Laser Engraving for Rings and Pendants
Laser engraving turns a finished ring, pendant or bracelet into a personal keepsake — names, dates, coordinates, monograms and custom motifs etched permanently into the metal. Anny's workshop offers in-house laser engraving on pieces purchased from us and on jewellery brought in from elsewhere.
Frankston handles all services, including repairs, valuations, engraving, remodelling, engagement rings and wedding rings. Email us before visiting Collins Street for engagement-ring and wedding-ring consultations. Please wait for our email confirmation before coming in. Engraving jobs and drop-offs are handled at the Frankston workshop.
- Engraving from A$95 per piece, in-house on our own laser
- A digital proof is signed off before the laser touches the piece

The Laser Bench
What Can You Laser-Engrave?
The most common pieces through our laser bench are wedding bands and engagement rings — initials, wedding dates, coordinates of the place a partner proposed, or a short phrase that means something only to the couple. Inside-band engraving is the classic choice, but the laser is equally happy on the outside of a band, on signet rings, or on the back of a pendant.
Beyond text we engrave logos, family crests, religious symbols, paw prints, line drawings, musical notation and custom artwork supplied as vector files. If you can sketch it or send us a clean image, we can convert it into a laser path. Pieces commissioned through our custom-made jewellery service can have the engraving planned in from the bench drawings forward.
Pieces we engrave
Wedding bands · Engagement rings · Signet rings · Pendants · Lockets · Bracelets · Identity tags · Cufflinks · Money clips · Watch case-backs
Metals
The laser writes on gold (9kt, 14kt and 18kt, in yellow, white and rose), platinum, silver and most jewellery-grade alloys.
Work near stones
Engraving close to a set stone is subject to inspection. We assess the metal, treatments, inclusions, fractures and existing damage, as well as the setting condition, before confirming a suitable method.
Motifs
Browse a Design Library and Bring Us the File
If you know you want a motif but not which one, browse a vector design library and send us what you like. Two large public ones are DXF for CNC and Free DXF — animals, florals, monograms and lettering, crests, silhouettes and geometric patterns. Treat them as a catalogue of what is achievable rather than a fixed menu: if you find something close, we can adapt it, and if you find nothing at all we can still draw the motif from scratch.
These libraries publish in DXF, a vector format that drops straight into the path our laser follows, so a design you find there needs no rebuilding at our end. Fine internal detail can close up at ring scale, so we will tell you plainly what will and won't read on the piece you have in mind.
DXF for CNC
dxfforcnc.com — A large public vector library. Mixes free and paid downloads.
Free DXF
free-dxf.com — Thousands of motifs across animals, florals, monograms and crests.
Formats we accept
DXF · SVG · AI · EPS · PDF vectors — plus clean high-contrast images, though tracing a raster adds a step.
Turnaround
How Long Does Engraving Take?
Most engravings complete in 1 to 2 business days from when the piece reaches the bench and the digital proof is signed off. Standard text engravings — names, dates, short phrases in our stock fonts — usually finish on the faster end of that window, while jobs that need vector preparation sit at the longer end so the proof step isn't rushed.
Same-day turnaround is possible for simple text engravings received before 10am, subject to bench availability. If your timeline is tight, email us so we can check whether we can prioritise your job.
- 01
Bring it in or send a photo
Drop the piece at Frankston with your text or artwork. We quote the engraving and any vector preparation up front.
- 02
Sign off the proof
You see the layout and proportions on the actual piece before anything is cut. Intricate motifs require the full 2-day window, because the vector tracing and proportional fitting against the piece's available surface has to be reviewed and approved before the laser cuts anything permanent.
- 03
Cut and collect
The laser follows the approved path. Handy for last-minute gifts and wedding bands collected the morning of the ceremony.
