Common questions
Do you provide jewellery valuations for insurance?
Yes. A standard valuation costs $150 per piece and includes a signed written valuation report. Check your insurer's documentation requirements before arranging a valuation. Our $200-per-hour jewellery sorting consultation provides in-person advice only; no valuation report is included. What is on the appraisal certificate?
Photographs, a written description, stone and metal specifications, and the assessed value. We include a report number where an actual grading report is available for the individual stone. Your certificate is signed by Chris Ozkoch and carries the workshop ABN.How long until I get my valuation certificate?
Valuation certificates are typically ready in 3 to 5 business days from drop-off. If you have an insurance deadline, let us know when you enquire so we can confirm whether a rush valuation is possible. How often should I update my jewellery valuation?
Check the review period with your insurer. Metal and gemstone prices change, so an older valuation may no longer reflect the current replacement cost. Can you value jewellery I bought elsewhere?
Yes, including online purchases, antique and inherited pieces. Valuations are handled at our Frankston workshop only. Email us before visiting Collins Street for engagement-ring and wedding-ring consultations. Please wait for our email confirmation before coming in.
